Tiring days

Been at the IES Fair 2004 and managing IES Gamecon 2005 aka IES LAN Games 2005.
See guys playing so much better than me :P
Anyway nice experience, better than last years IES Network Games 2004. This year a lot of timing problems due to people not wanting to skip class. Just wondering why I didnt seem to have that problem last year haha. Anyway 42 people joined due to my lack of forsight to limit registration to 32. But actually maybe I should have let it be a 64 player cap. Well note to the NEXT IES IT and publicity committees. Publicise EARLIER eventhough you may not have finalised the details of your sponsorships. Do NOT be like me!!!! :P
Also do NOT wait for approval for the LAN games from OSA before going to find sponsors :P
Well the sponsors I got where Playworks (for the computers and some prizes they got through their own sponsors), Barracuda (for the mouse pads as well as prizes) and atf (for some prizes).

Been a long and tiring experience. Today is the last day and I’m up at 0500 due to my 0530-0930 security shift. So I’ll be hear at the Science Foyer from 0530 to about 2000 or maybe even later. Have to see how things go with pack up and stuff.

Anyway I better start doing my assignment due on Monday :(
Tuesday paper design for EE3208 Embedded Computer Systems. I havent even started on that :|
Weekend going to be work filled :S:'(
Need to do my EE2001 project at get the RF circuit designed as well as working hopefully :D

Maybe I dont need to sleep this semester

2 modules : 100% project based
1 module : ‘killer’ module. A LOT of maths
1 module : 40% project based
1 module : Not too sure what to expect but it doesnt look good =|
1 club : IES
1 UROP : Seems quite heavy but its 1 year long

But still =|
I guess that means website upgrade will have to wait :”(
Wanted to finish it by the end of the week but I dont think I can devote the time to that :(
Have a happy semester people. I hope I can have one

Laptop screen screwed

IE screwed.
Adobe Acrobat Reader screwed.

How the heck am I supposed to use my laptop now. Life doesn’t seem to get any better does it?
Tried attaching my laptop to a TV set yesterday. Its ok if you want to watch DVDs on the TV but its killing my eyes if I try to read the text. Had to change resolutions and despite that still very hard to read. TV resolution is 320×240. I think I heard or read that somewhere. Correct me if I’m wrong but I could care less if I were. All I want is a working laptop.

Attended 2 lectures so far. And both of them seem like putting a nail in the coffin that I seem to have bought myself this semester. Workload going to be pretty heavy I think. Next semester I’m not sure if its going to be any different with my FYP (Final Year Project) and Real time embedded systems which everyone says is another killer module just like EE2011 Electromagnetics that I’m taking this semester. Sigh…
Thats all I can do.
Sponsors stuff not confirmed. Club disorganised I feel. Noone reads mails. Noone contributes. Or at least so it seems.

Life been bad

For module choosing. Clashes and modules not being offered to engineering students in semester 2….

Anyway went to chalet on Monday until Wednesday morning. All the way in the east National Service Resort & Country Club. No Internet connection… Costa Sands Resort the last chalet I went to had a connection and a good one at that. Ended up going to McDonalds to get my fix of emailing important stuff like my appeal to take a module despite a clash in lecture timing….
Watched ‘The Exorcist’ and ‘My Sassy Girl’ the 1st night of the chalet. 2nd night planned to night cycle and watch the sun rise but it was raining… grrrr Wasted money on renting the bikes. I learnt Mahjong there!!! :P haha Need a reference guide to ‘read’ the characters though haha

Anyway I think this semester which starts on Monday :|:|:| is going to be quite a bad one. 5 modules with 2 modules having the grade soley based on projects :|:|:| Anyway hope for the best for all the rest of you still choosing modules.

Happy New Year!!!

Or is it? Laptop still not fixed yet. Need to get work done and its very hard to get it done on a computer that’s not mine. I would install all the stuff I need but its still not the same.
Have to call the service centre on Monday. Hopefully its done. Big hopefully. It took like 1 month+ to replace a broken bracket or something like that the last time when my laptop could not open/close properly. Hopefully it wont take that long to replace the screen. sigh… I want my laptop!!!!! :'(

Anyway HAPPY NEW YEAR to all. Enjoy the year ahead

‘Merry’ Christmas?

Well first of MERRY CHRISTMAS to all!!!
Now for the not so merry christmas for me.
My screen is flickering for extended periods of time. What used to be 3 or 4 flickers have turned into 30 second episodes :”(:”(
Currently while I’m typing this its okay. But it was in a mean cycle just now. Long flickering episode, nice normal screen for like 2 seconds then another long flickering episode and so on….
So looks like I can’t/won’t be getting much work done unless I buy another laptop or computer. I can’t use other computers as well as I can use mine. ‘Everything’ I need is installed on my laptop and I know where I can get everything I need. With using another computer I have to 1) install all the necessary programs if I can indeed install programs and 2) customize my settings and such and its just such a pain… sigh…
Picking up my friend’s LCD on Monday from repair. I wonder if I should buy a new laptop or send my laptop for repair or just use it with the LCD. But when my friend comes back I’ll have to return the LCD leaving me with only my junior’s computer which I’m using to host the CSalpha server. Think I want to buy another laptop but it’s best to wait for matriculation fair which is 1 semester away :| Good news its that my laptop is still under warranty. 3 years warranty *phew*
Life… need to backup stuff tomorrow just in case
