Busy days

Today, tomorrow and Wednesday will be having mission trip meetings for China. Yes you heard that right, banana (Chinese who doesn’t speak Chinese, well for my case its more like CANT speak :P) me going to China…. to teach English :P A bit of saving grace I guess.
Anyway we did some dance stuff yesterday and dare I say I like dancing? :P Considering my brother dances does it run in the genes? :P However I shall not upload the video of us dancing :P And to practise I cropped myself out of the video so I dont have to look at myself when I review the steps :P
We will have to sing some Chinese songs as well and thus there is the Pinyin for me to read but its still a pain. Ahhhhh… Need God to guide my tongue as I sing.
We did some choral speaking (length article. shorter article here, or you can try my explaination which is reciting a poem with expressions using just the face). I got 2 lines to do while most of them have only 1 line. Ack :P But its not that bad. My lines are “I’ll shiver like I’m cold, and hold my breath until I’m blue”.
Sad note. I have 1 semi-dead pixel :'(:'(:'(
Going to change after I come back from China I guess. Sigh… Another sad note: iPAQ 6535 (I keep forgetting the model #) PDA/Phone that I got for my FYP seems to be hanging more often. Guess Windows Mobile Phone Edition isnt that great or possibly just not enough horse power it (guess thats why its the cheapest, or at least 1 of the cheapest, PDA/Phone).
Anyway off to do my quiet time with God and sleep and rest before jogging in the morning for China again. They are going to make us to a 10km relay race aaahhhh
Always something to look forward to though… SNOW!!!! :P:P
Night people and enjoy the holidays ahead ;-)

Waiting for the last one

CS2106 Operating Systems: pretty good content, bad way of delivery. Quite a bit of material so lots of reading. The most interesting module this semester perhaps. Went to the canteen to work just now and it seemed kind of sad because when I went down there wasn’t many people studying there. Strange seeing how it hasn’t even been a week since exams officially started. Don’t know what to type. Just feel like typing :P Perhaps I should get back to work :P

Just a quick link for fun: Illusions and Paradoxes:Seeing is Believing?. Dont trust your eyes :P

And so

Just like that and there’s 1 exam left. And 1 FYP assesment as well.
Went to watch WCG at Suntec yesterday after I took my flu vaccination jab. Got there about 1630-ish. First thing I didnt like was the long escalator rides up. Its on the top floor I think. Getting on escalator after escalator after escalator got me kind of restless especially since I’ve never been to such a big event before (so I guess I was kind of ‘sakai’/’swakoo’/ignorant).
After I got in just took a quick look around. Gamers playing on the right, in the middle is the main stage event with chairs for spectators, on the left lots of booths and stuff and on the far left there was commentary for a WC3 game. I came just in time actually to watch Singapore’s CS:S team, TitaNs, beat South Korea’s MaveNCrew in a 16-4 win. After losing the first 3 rounds they had a 14-0 streak if I’m not mistaken. Apparently TitaNs are playing their match now against Canada’s Team_EG. All the best Singapore. Don’t know why I’m supporting Singapore but I guess I should since I’m here for the moment and that Singapore is hosting the games so that I can actually watch it LIVE :D:D:D Anyway better get reading and off to church. Have a good weekend people. Study well and all the best

And so the studying begins

I think. I hope. Been doing Operating Systems Assignment 2 or as I like to all it ass 2 :P for the past 2 days with my ‘mummy’ and the ‘maid’ :P Something tells me it wasnt really worth doing the extra part however its fun to learn things. I still cant get over the malloc problem. Ok I just wanted to try compile the program in Windows to look at the problem and I just realised I dont have a C compiler!!!! And now thinking back on this I realised I know why, because cygwin never seems to be able to download the packages and install properly. Sounds a bit like Steam which is sometimes too fickle to update itself properly. Aaaaahhhh missing the ease of Linux in this sense where all I need is to “apt-get gcc”. As simplicity. Anyway I got NUScast working on Debian last night with the help of this page. I can watch webcast lectures as well, however it cannot fast forward or rewind!!!! ARGH!! Reminds me of TTT webcasts with his specialied application. Step by step migration. Becoming less worried about mounting my main “C:” directory in Linux, just was always worried that something may happen and I lose all the data on my Windows C drive and then I can kiss most of my work goodbye :| :P

Now where was I. Oh yeah talking about OS ass 2 :P Kind of finished it today after 2 and a half days of working (well maybe 1 day working 1.5 days stoning or something like that). What I need now is rest. Good old rest. Rest the body rest the mind rest the soul, and the study. Apparently I have to do all that tonight else I will have hardly any time to study :P Now I shouldnt be blogging now I should go sleep. Man it’s been a loooooooooooooooooooooong 1 and a half weeks.
Good luck people having exams. I look like a panda I’m sure. ‘Mummy’ says so :P Good night ‘mummy’ and ‘maid’ :P Good times, good times. Good ice cream at that too hehehe.

Serenity fans in Singapore click here for a chance to catch it in Singapore. Courtesy of uzyn for the link. I share the exact same sentiment as him, cant believe why it doesnt seem to be shown in the cinemas… Strange. Wish I could go but I got church “Makan Strike” event :D Who wants to come? :D
21st is outdoor games, 22nd is LAN gaming at Parklane and then overnight makan!!! :D We’re having a small get-together on 26th Nov to makan and watch Finding Nemo. Since I havent watched that (sad life huh? :P) its going to be free movie for me yay!!! :P

Ok ok.. SLEEP… SLEEP…

And so it’s almost over

RT done!!! =D=D=D Mr and Mrs PacSmithman presentation and demo done. Now its just the final touches to the report and submission. Operating systems assignment practically done, but yet to be fully tested. Documentation still needs to be done. Time to start studying. 16th,18th,25th Nov are my exams, 21st Nov is my FYP CA2. Going to be 1 heck of a week. I’ll have 1 exam over in a week’s time =|
Perhaps its time to hit the books, but I rather play with the penguin. Slow transition to the penguin world is slowly happening. A few probs will be, there is no longer any NUS Debian mirror. Seems to be broken/slowly taken down or who knows what, so perhaps have to change distro if I plan on reinstalling… aaaaahhhhhh
Anyway I guess I should get my lunch. For the past week I’ve been sleeping at 0200 the earliest just doing the RT project. But thats more or less laid to rest which is what I should do to, rest myself and study. And study. And study. Thank God that the content doesnt seem that bad this semester but still need to read and read and study :P Quite a bit of overlap for Operating systems and real-time content so even better :D

Good luck for your exams people

Project days now and ahead

In 6.5 hours I will be in town to take photos for mission trip :|
Two days ago I slept for only an hour.
Tonight I think I shall get less.
For one project with so many problems
I’m thinking this would be much more useful. And actually its fitting with our project. The module? EE4214. I will need to make a page for future students for them to find out what they need to know about the course and how to start and guidelines which the people in charge do not give, or do not give much….. To anybody doing the course in the future I’ll be glad to help so that you dont have to waste your time doing things that are useless.
As for me now I think I’ll slack around for a while before getting back to work.

Good thing I dont have any official classes this week due to the holidays today and 2 days ago.

RANT: NUS Debian distro is screwed up!!!!! I believe they have taken away some packages because now I CANT install from it anymore. No more xserver-xorg package among other things. The idiots….. For others looking for repositories (at least I believe it is repositories) there’s another NUS one here for Gentoo,Ubuntu,CentOS and White Box

Night people
