Its the usual no-mood-to-study-after-an-exam syndrome right now. Havent been doing ‘heavy’ studying but studying nonetheless. Right now I’m kind of bored so just type type type. Go read more Opera forums :P Bug a few people online hehe
So back on to relaxing for a while

See for yourself :P Now I’m just afraid do to almost anything on my comp now else people will complain that the server is laggy hehe. Good thing about that is… make more study more hehe I can set up a Quake 3 server as well actually :D Tried it yesterday does work but it kills that ‘Alt-Tab’ feature for Windows. Something I ‘need’….

Also its not very wise to host 3 servers on your comp hehe. Currently I have 2. CS server as well as ‘Battle.net’ using PvPGN. Been messing around with the PvPGN stats pages. Its a ‘nightmare’ trying to skin it =|. Got most of it done and all thats left is showing a server status page when loading instead of the default rankings. Its pretty hard to do though due to the way the author wrote the source. I need all the power of Regular Expression only to find out that ConTEXT the text editor that I’m using doesnt really support what I want, or at least I can’t find the syntax even after looking at the manual as well as trying a few things out :”( But all in all ConTEXT is a nice piece of work :)

Anyway back to studying…

25 pages of The Final Hours of Half-Life 2 I want to play the game even MORE!!!!!! Release date is 16th November. 3 days before my FIRST EXAM!!! :”(:”(
Its a very good read into what happend at Valve and the stories leading up to possibly the best game of all time!!! MUAHAHAHA :P Okay maybe not exactly the best, but easily one of the most anticipated. With Counter-Strike Source out already everybody wants a hold on Half-Life 2 including me. I haven’t bought Source or Half-Life 2 as of yet but will probably buy it after exams. Just hope my computer can play it, if not hope I have sombody’s computer to play it on :D
Ok now that I’ve ‘wasted’ my morning reading that article and not studying, I should grab my lunch before starting work. Monk on at 1400 on Channel I :P

Somethings up with the Steam Update. Was trying to get Counter-Strike 1.5 for Steam working last night. The update was taking so long I just left it running overnight. So when I got up in the morning I try start the server. Server working, then tried logging into Steam. Wasn’t working. Several times but still not working. I thought Steam was down but no reports on CS-Nation or on Steam Network Status. So I thought the update for the CS 1.5 for Steam update screwed up my Steam installation so I backed up my Steam files, uninstalled Steam and reinstalled it.

After reinstallation I start up my Steam client and its updating files as it should. Initially it wouldnt update at all!!! Stuck at 0%. Then I just let it run then after about 20 minutes it showed 1%!!!!!!! My friend said he just started and it was up to 30% already. So I closed Steam and reopened it. Got 1% in like 1 minute now :P So I thought it was okay, so I left it to update while I go and study. However its been updating since about 1300 and its been stuck at 45%!!!! My friend’s is stuck at 82%!!! Im pretty sure its cant be anything wrong with the Steam as the Network Status shows that there are people playing so I can’t be down. The only thing I have left to blame is NUS!!!!! X-(X-(

Take away our freedom to play Battle.net or CS (on Steam even on Singapore servers). With WCG to be held in Singapore next year, you would think they would promote gaming. Maybe should go to WCG 2005 and have a boycott. “Singapore hosts WCG 2005 but doesn’t let University students develop or nuture their talent.” I’ve heard the situation in NTU is pretty bad as well. If they say students shouldn’t be playing games because it distracts them from studies, then they shouldn’t be watching TV either so they should take away NUSCAST because student’s could be watching to much TV. I’ve written to the computer centre about the matter and I never got a reply. Maybe should bring the issue up to NUSSU :P If NUS does not want students to play I just want a justifiable explanation. Is that so hard? I don’t think so. I just want to play. Is that wrong? I doubt so. So LET ME PLAY!!!! grrrrrr

Demo done. Report still left. But feel like a ‘void’. Its like I have nothing to do, but heck sure I know I have loads of studying to do for exams, but it just doesnt seem appealing to me right now. With happiness there comes a void?!?!?! :S:S Happy that everything is practically done :D Sadness with exams coming up :|:'( And ‘void’ now. What do I do? I’ve been busy with projects the whole semester and now when projects are ‘done’ I have nothing to do. Hmmmm what to do what to do. I guess ‘stone’ here :P
Its been fun coding and modifying stuff for IES Game Servers :D:D So fun. Much more fun that most school work. Applicable real life situations. You are given some code, now modify it for your needs :D Maybe I’ll do more of that but it seems all done… Who knows? Just laze around I guess. For a while. Or longer :P
